Polka Geek 'n' Chic

This current post of mine, was a shoot that I had done for a boutique named: One Hundred Degrees , located in Koregaon Park, Pune. It houses some amazing chic clothing for both men and women. Owned by Mickey Gurudatta and his gorgeous wife, Ravneet, a designer and stylist herself, one can expect a great styling experience!
Here I wore a Polka dot shirt tucked neatly into a plain black high waist mini skirt for a formal look. accessorised it with a metallic silver bag and some geek glasses for a chic formal look with a twist! the heels were my own, from Zara.
Photography was done by a kickass duo: Divesh Idnani and Furqan Jawed who run their own services: The Lumiere Project Do check them out on facebook!
Enjoy the Pictures! :)

Hope you loved the pictures!

Bejeweled

Its been a while since I posted on my blog! Sorry for being MIA, I was preoccupied with alot of things. Also, I got myself a great new phone so you will be seeing alot more posts and updates henceforth! :D
The red pants had a scalloped detailing on the hips and the top had a beautiful jeweled print. The jeweled print looked so pretty and real against the lighting at the shoot location. I totally fell in love with it!
Accessories were a clutch, a gold cuff and a gold head-band that added an extra zing to the outfit. Heels were my own from Zara. :)

Just Barooque-ing Around

For those not familiar with the Baroque/ Rococo movements: It is a period of artistic style that used exaggerated motion and clear, easily interpreted detail to produce drama, tension, exuberance, and grandeur in sculpture, painting, architecture, literature, dance, music and fashion. The style started around 1600 in Rome, Italy and spread to most of Europe.
Baroque is synonymous with elaborate, extravagant, flamboyant, over-decorated and excessive style.

This trend was really big this previous Fall/Winter 2012 and one can still see some remnants of it continuing into summer coupled with bright , bold colours in Spring/ Summer 2013.

Here, I wore a light , translucent (sheer) royal/cobalt blue top with a catchy barooque print on the front. Pairing it up with lighter denims made the top and print stand out even more, giving it the attention it deserved! ;)

These wedges are one of my favourites! So comfy yet chic! :D

Accessories always part an important part of ones outfit! Pairing this outfit up with subtle goldelements like the clutch , barooque-ish earrings , and the cuff along with the finger rings , helped bring out the trend in a subtle way! :)

Tank Top: c/o Busy Bee
Off White Denims: Mango
Wedges: Hill Road, Bandra
Accessories: Local store, Pune ; Blur ; Accessorize

Hope this post was informative as well as a delight to your eyes! :)
Till next time,

Valentine's Day

Hey, Lovely Readers!
Sorry for the extremely late Valentine's Day post! Thing is, I finished writing the article and uploading the pictures and BAM, the electricity went off on 14th, and it sorta ticked me off as I was running super late already! So do pardon me! :/ #shithappens haha!
Anyway, here's a little info about Valentine's Day for all my peeps here!
The most popular martyrology associated with Saint Valentine was that he was imprisoned for performing weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry and for ministering to Christians, who were persecuted under the Roman Empire. During his imprisonment, he is said to have healed the daughter of his jailer, Asterius. Legend states that before his execution he wrote her a letter "from your Valentine" as a farewell.
I decided to go in for a day look for a lunch date! :)
My look here: I didn't want to go in for the clichéd RED, and opted for a crimson/orangey summery blazer. Yes, its getting warmer in India gradually but this blazer is so light weight with a very thin lining material that its almost just like a throw-on or a shrug. I paired it up with a cotton puffy cute white dress and chunky neon orange wedge heels along with some accessories to bring the look together! :) Enjoy the pictures! <3

Goodbye Winter 2012

Ok so my favourite season is coming to an end here in India, and boy, it will be missed! :( Winter this 2012 was full of darker , richer shades like the ruling colour of the season: Oxblood. We saw military trends, plum shades, boots stockings, barooque etc and now with the advent of summers will come the lighter , more 'fun' shades! And my camera has gone for a toss! :/ Contemplating, if I should just buy a new one? Here are some pictures in stockings and boots, celebrating the last few days of the chills! :)

Military-Chic

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Military Trend was recently a big hit on the runways all around the world. It was the return of 'Camouflage', sported but various influential street stylers and fashion bloggers. It was army gear with a stylish and feminine twist! Strong Military styled looks made girls look like they could run the world. Victoria Beckham, Gucci, Max Mara and Salvatore Ferragamo took the army theme to a new level.
Tip: If you are skeptical about this look, go easy by opting for military shades like dull shades of army green, black, navy and mustard making up the perfect military colour palette. Details like metal or brass buttons, badges, etc add to the look. Go feminine by sporting the perfect red pout and your ready to look Military-Chic!
My look here: I paired print-on-print with a snakeskin-print top and camouflage oversized jacket. The boots added to the entire look as without them I found that something was just amiss.  The hair-braid and red lips added the feminine touch! :)

Jacket: Brothers Closet -Haha!
